"I admit that I didn't care for them at first, but after seeing them all the time, everywhere every winter for the past 5 years or so, they grew on me, and made me want a pair.I used to think that they were ugly, but now I think they're the most stylish boot out there. Are You A Coastie? Do You Wear Tights, UGGs, and North Face Jackets

This post is especially interesting to me, because I just added a scene earlier today to the second draft of my novel with the female protagonists wearing a pair of gray tights with chestnut UGGs.

MADISON (WKOW) -- It's called the "coasties" song, and it's drumming up controversy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The song, written by two UW students, pokes fun at some of their classmates, particularly out-of-state students who tend to wear certain clothes.

It's become popular online, but is creating controversy on campus.

Quincy Harrison and Cliff Grefe released the song in October. The rap song comments on "coasties" wearing tights, UGG boots and North Face jackets.

Some Jewish students are objecting, as are people who believe the university housing policy segregates out-of-state students in private dorms by giving in-state students preference for the residence halls.

Police Close 1,219 Scam UGG® Sites!

Police Swoop to Close Scam Websites\via Tech Radar

The Metropolitan Police have acted on consumer group tip-offs to freeze 1,219 websites purporting to offer designer goods, but which were simply scams.

Customers would place and pay for orders, then usually receive nothing. More than a third of the sites claimed to be selling the popular Ugg boots.

The sites all sported a 'co.uk' prefix, leading customers to believe they were buying from British merchants, but in truth they were controlled from abroad [with the vast bulk of the sites being registered in China].

If customers received any goods at all, they were counterfeits.
But the biggest problem was by disclosing details they opened themselves to the risk of credit card theft and identity theft.
